Senator Inhofe on the matter of the stolen Global Warming emails.

Posted by Arkady On 11/23/2009 03:50:00 PM Comments

Below is an interview with Senator Inhofe a leading political figure on the issue of global warming "science" once calling Global Warming a hoax.

For those that still believe that the stolen emails represent nothing (ahem - NYT) or somehow demonstrate the desperation of the "right", I suggest your get with the program and stop slurping the Kool-Aid.  While the method by which they were obtained is deplorable ignoring them despite the constant errors coming out of the global warming camps is equally idiotic.  Senator Inhofe plans to launch a full investigation and rightfully so because we are talking about millions of dollars squandered on this research with no results and for no damn reason.

We should absolutely strive to have the most innovative and advanced technology in the world, we should ween ourselves from foreign oil and we should certainly develop methodologies that could assist us in preserving the sanctity of our planet - but because we want to, not because some crooked political agency forces us.   Whenever you hear the word 'crisis' coming out of a politician's mouth you better run and cover, because it is nothing more than a ploy for government to take over more and more of your individual right.

I would expect Cap and Trade to be officially dead and we can at least breathe a sigh of relief as the creeping tide of federal expansion has taken a significant hit.

Global Warming hoax exposed by hackers? Several emails examined.

Posted by Arkady On 11/21/2009 01:41:00 AM Comments

In a most stunning and abrupt discovery we learn that several days ago hackers invaded Hadley University of East Anglia and made off with a handful of documents and emails.  The director of the Climate Research Unit confirms that the emails are indeed genuine and now the search has begun.  Files have been dispersed like wildfire through the Internet and are at the mercy of every skeptic who has fought against the hoax known to us as Global Warming.  I am currently examining the emails myself and some of the information appears to be tremendously incriminating and could be the final nail in the coffin.  While I do not personally endorse the hackers nor do I find their methods admirable nor do we appreciate the invasion of Green fascists into our homes and lives.  Cap and Trade was poised to devastate our economy despite the already mounting piles of evidence suggesting that global warming is a fraud just like the people pushing it.  Hopefully this discovery will finally bury this piece of horrible legislation away for good and we can just get on with our lives.

Here are some emails that I have begun examining, all emphasis are mine.

An e-mail discussing practices.
I think that my > experience with audits and engineering studies is more substantial than > Bradley's and this is an extraordinarily silly thing for him to > say. After the fact, one of the key mis-steps in the Bre-X fraud was > the engineering report in which ore reserves were calculated using false > data supplied to the consulting engineers by Bre-X, without any > verification being carried out by the engineers.
IPCC is always a favorite target of mine and not because they share the Nobel prize with Gore, but because they have been wrong over and over.  They are nothing more than a politicial body and hopefully they will be exposed for who they are
In my (perhaps too > > harsh) > > view, there have been a number of dishonest presentations of model > > results by individual authors and by IPCC. This is why I still use > > results from MAGICC to compare with observed temperatures. At least > > here I can assess how sensitive matches are to sensitivity and > > forcing assumptions/uncertainties.
There are many emails about Wei-Chyung Wang and him falsifying data as a basis for his research papers.  He is only important insofar as he is a professor and the recepient of a lot of money in order to study greenhouse gases.  His fraud however is widely available.  The paper is written by one, Phil Jones, whose name is only important in establishing the veracity of these emails.

Many emails also must be written carefully and taken in context, but the following blurbs do appear to be dubious.
To be realistic, the fresh-water flux used should ideally be the observed flux - I agree that a diagnosed field hides model errors. Its similar to the flux correction or no flux correction dilemna of coupled models - do you want a realistic state with unrealistic processes, or a possibly unrealistic state with realistic processes. Either way, the response of the model to perturbations cannot be guaranteed to be realistic. The best current way is to do both. Then, with luck, the real world will lie between the two answers obtained.
Some scientists raising concern over averaging.

I think the paper should > specifically warn against this. Averaging is notorious as a way of > hiding important differences.
Without understanding the full details, the following email is dist
I've just completed Mike's Nature trick of adding in the real temps to each series for the last 20 years (ie from 1981 onwards) amd from 1961 for Keith's to hide the decline.
This following email is sent from a rather respected individual in the community and what he is saying is rather shocking.

I presume congratulations are in order - so congrats etc ! Just sent loads of station data to Scott. Make sure he documents everything better this time ! And don't leave stuff lying around on ftp sites - you never know who is trawling them. The two MMs have been after the CRU station data for years. If they ever hear there is a Freedom of Information Act now in the UK, I think I'll delete the file rather than send to anyone. Does your similar act in the US force you to respond to enquiries within 20 days? - our does ! The UK works on precedents, so the first request will test it. We also have a data protection act, which I will hide behind.
Another email is a series of questions about data gone "missing".

After nearly a year and over 25 emails, Crowley said in mid-October that he has misplaced the original data and could only find transformed and smoothed versions. This makes proper data checking impossible, but I'm planning to do what I can with what he sent. Do I need to comment on my attitude to the original data being "misplaced"?
This is just the beginning folks.

EPA lawyers speak out against Cap and Trade, propose alternative plan. NOAA throws wrench in alarmist's plans.

Posted by Arkady On 11/10/2009 04:06:00 PM Comments

Look, global warming has not been able to get any traction despite Al Gore winning a Noble prize the honor of which has certainly been put under scrutiny recently.  However there are still plenty of people who are willing to buy the hype and can even consider that the alarmists may be onto something.  Personally, it does not matter ot me one bit if there is a group of people who think that oceans are rising because I forgot to turn my light off.  Frankly, I have heard of crazier things.  It does get a bit annoying to listen to these alarmist views considering they are describing nature.  "The oceans are rising!" "The rivers are shrinking" "The coast cities are sinking" "Polar bears are sweating".   So what?  Long before you and me and even Pelosi (although questionable), all these natural phenomenons existed.  You know why that hunk of ice we call Greenland was called Greenland?  Because it was green!  So go ahead and scream like a lunatic.

But here is the problem.

Their lunacy is somehow translating into political action that threatens to undermine our productivity and lower our standard of living.  Why?  I would understand the idea of weening ourselves off Saudi oil, but because the oceans are rising?  You know, the sun will explode at one point too - should I stop tanning?  The magnificent piece of dung colloquially known as Cap and Trade is a product of this extreme paranoia.  Fortunately we have some semi-sensible people that see past big government tricks and made a 10 minute video highlighting the failure proposed by the Waxman bill and narrowly passing House.  Seems like narrowly passing House is becoming a regular occurrence.

Watch the video as they explain how big government and special interests reap massive profits while the rest of us suffer and more importantly, virtually no clean energy solutions are implemented.

Note: This video has come under pressure from the White House and the EPA, so this may not be around for long.

Classic example of big government trying to do something right - and getting it so very wrong. This is not the first time cap and trade has been attempted and the video illustrates it's tremendous failures.  The two lawyers then go ahead and propose something called Carbon Fees, which they believe will usher in incentives and innovation to jump start the green economy.

The two lawyers, however, while smart enough to realize that KneeCap and Trade is a disaster are not much different than the global warming alarmists.  This is where they lose me and where you should disregard them. Using data from the IPCC a political group with obvious bias, they conclude that disaster is on it's way.  Riiiiight.

This is the same IPCC that claimed the 90s was the hottest decade EVER.  Turns out they made a slight error in judgment.  Worse yet the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) released it's state of the Climate Review.  Here is the first sentence.

The average October temperature of 50.8°F was 4.0°F below the 20th Century average and ranked as the 3rd coolest based on preliminary data.
For the nation as a whole, it was the third coolest October on record. The month was marked by an active weather pattern that reinforced unseasonably cold air behind  a series of cold fronts. Temperatures were below normal in eight of the nation's nine climate regions, and of the nine, five were much below normal. Only the Southeast climate region had near normal temperatures for October.
Yeah. EPA lawyers are smart, but they are still drinking the Kool-Aid.  That is not to say that their idea is bad, but if its an idea based on a fear that we will soon explode in a violent vortex of emission gases as punishment for our sins - then its not a terribly good foundation.

Not convinced?  Then why does this happen?  (Which by the way even contradicts my explanation of the earth naturally warming (or cooling) because it wants to, regardless of what we humans do).
At December's U.N. Global Warming conference in Poznan, Poland, 650 of the world's top climatologists stood up and said man-made global warming is a media generated myth without basis. Said climatologist Dr. David Gee, Chairman of the International Geological Congress, "For how many years must the planet cool before we begin to understand that the planet is not warming?"
The earth's temperature peaked in 1998. It's been falling ever since; it dropped dramatically in 2007 and got worse in 2008, when temperatures touched 1980 levels.
Quick, there are 650 right-wing extremists in Poland pretending to be climatologists, get them!!!

But look - if a company was to present to me a car that emitted water instead of noxious fumes and told me it costs the same, I would definitely buy the water emitting vehicle.  If instead the same company MADE me buy this vehicle while telling me it's twice as expensive as my gas guzzler for no other reason than because Al Gore said so - well then we have a serious problem.

Health Care Reform aka America’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009

Posted by Arkady On 7/21/2009 01:52:00 PM Comments

America’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009 (AAHC) is the name of the bill that has the potential to radically change the landscape of the American health system. With over 1,000 pages in size, a bill of this magnitude is too difficult for any one person to read through, in fact at this point it is likely than no one individual member of congress has read it. Of course this would not be the first time, considering the stimulus bill was passed and nobody read that either.

I will track the bill on the page and you can follow the link to explore more about it.

As of now, opencongress.org is showing another overwhelming tilt in public opinion with:
56 Ayes and 422 Nays, although not nearly as bad the Cap and Trade Bill with 174 Ayes and 1497 Nays. I imagine that as people learn more about the potential dangers of "health reform" the division should become more profound. You should begin to wonder at this point, why is Washington so completely out of touch with average Americans, Americans that seem to quite simply reject the notion that government should be intervening in aspects of private business and personal health. To say that our government is overstepping it's intended purpose would be a gross understatement and would be funny if it were not so damn sad. See, I made myself cry just now...how embarassing.

In the meantime, if you enjoy long walks on the beach, watching paint dry or scratching out your eyeballs - you can read the bill right here. Read the Health Care Reform Bill.

Update: Looks like the bill ran into some problem, according to this story from Fox - House Energy and Commerce Committee could not reach a compromise among the more fiscally "conservative" Democrats. This is a positive development and hopefully will spell doom for this piece of so-called legislation.

Nothing is more aggravating then lawmakers attempting to understand the bill better and the president simply shoving it down their throat. He has not read the bill himself and does not care what it entails, he simply wants to sign off on sweeping changes that loosely fit his vision of the world. This includes punishing polluting companies while cranking up the cost for middle-class America's electricity use and increasing taxes to implement a system that will ultimately wipe out private health insurers. Why so few people find this scary and alarming is truly beyond me.

"I want this done now. If there are no deadlines, nothing gets done in this town," Obama said in an interview with PBS. But he suggested that he'd be willing to put off his deadline slightly for the sake of passing a bill. "

What is the damn rush Obama?

John Boehner exposes Cap and Trade bill.

Posted by Arkady On 6/28/2009 12:55:00 AM 1 comments

An absolute must watch from minority leader John Boehner as he discusses some of the particularly disturbing details of the latest climate bill. Boehner has been rather spotty in terms of sticking up for the little guy, but when he comes through - he does so with a BANG!

His speech delves into the bill's shocking reach of government control. We are going to be mandated and told where to install electrical outlets, how big they should be and which appliances they should accommodate. We will be forced to prove to a government official every time we make a house upgrade that our upgrades increase energy efficiency! In case that is not bad enough, Fannie and Freddie will be awarded with extra moneys such that they can issue mortgages dependent on energy efficiency. The bill also introduces new federal mandates based on "green" efficiencies and by using Freddie/Fannie will enforce such mandates.

Further restrictions are being imposed on building material as those deemed worthy by our government officials.

Unfortunately it does not stop there, as Boehner points out that specific provisions and special funds are being allocated to upgrading and building low income housing as it pertains to energy efficiency and this is being done with money that we do not have. Thankfully he makes a snide, but timely remark wondering if ACORN is eligible for the aforementioned work. Most likely John, most likely.

Please watch.

Bill alert: American Clean Energy And Security Act of 2009 a.k.a Cap and Trade

Posted by Arkady On 6/26/2009 12:53:00 PM Comments

Henry Waxman of California has pushed this bill through and a vote is expected to take place shortly. According to opencongress.org the bill has massive opposition among the public or the educated voters. With 770 Nays and 103 Ayes putting the bill in the same bucket of dislike as the Stimulus package.

The bill sounds good on paper as it strives to move America from the dependency on oil, but in reality this is nothing more than a Global Warming rescue package. A package that is being put forth on the Americans in time of significant strife and threatens to implicitly raise taxes on every single family. According to Heritage.org if the bill passes, the end result will be "... will lower temperatures by only hundredths of a degree in 2050 and no more than two-tenths of a degree at the end of the century.”

Obviously the Green Fascists will have you believe otherwise and using the term "crisis" or "emergency" will invariably attempt to push this legislation through. Unfortunately for the rest of us, Global Warming is still an issue that most scientists cannot agree on. Yes, warming is happening, but how much of the warming is caused by humans and if we change our behavior in America what will be the net result? As of now, it seems like the fascists are more concerned with feel-good policies than actually considering what the potential costs may be.

Please follow the Heritage.org link for a detailed analysis of how many thousands of dollars this will cost you and me. Ultimately this bill must be squashed in Congress or America could face a very crippling economic hardship.

Update: The bill unfortunately passed the house by a hair, 8 Republicans voted along with the Democrats and it made all the difference. Next step is the Senate and hopefully those opposing massive government takeover of private enterprise will fare better this time.

219-212, should have been 211-220 ... sad day indeed.
